Main Engine Press is now offering a responsive custom screen-restretching service to screen printers in and around the Central Ohio area. If you have a pile of screens that you need to have back in action, and don’t want to spend lots of money on new screens or on shipping, please use the contact page or place your order using our simple and straightforward online ordering option.
We offer yellow 156, 200, and 230 mesh, for your 31x23 inch and 24x20 inch static aluminum screens. Our standard turn around time is 7-10 business days, but if you need your screens faster, just let us know and we will make it work.
Slide the arrows left and right to see what an old, used screen looks like (before) and what one looks like once we've restored it (after) at Main Engine Press.
Yellow mesh is preferable because it absorbs more light during exposure than white mesh, which means that details in your image will translate better to the the screen. For higher mesh counts (200 and 230) our yellow mesh is the best option.
First, Main Engine Press prepares your aluminum frame. This might require some cleaning and sanding. We can only determine the extent of the preparation once we have them in our experts’ possession. After your frame is prepped, we stretch new monofilament mesh on your newly cleaned and sanded frame. We stretch your screen at 30 newtons (N) of tension (30 is our standard, but we are happy to adjust this if you request a different tension). We measure and clean every screen before it leaves our facility. We then wrap every screen in recyclable brown paper for its return to you.
This is up to you. If standard turn around time (7-10 business days) is okay for you, you can pay for shipping, drop them off at our convenient Central Ohio location, or arrange for us to pick them up. Either way is okay with us. If you need them faster than our standard turn around time, let us know and we can make arrangements regarding cost and delivery. We’re flexible.
Pretty much the same as above, except you’re getting screens back instead of sending them to us.
