A little while ago my mom and I were poking around a second hand antique store here in the Heart of the Heart of It All and I noticed an old dusty crate of old dusty soda pop bottles. The soda pop wasn’t one that I was familiar with, but i have a thing for old soda pop bottles so I checked it out. Turns out they were all empty bottles of a brand of soda pop called Black Kow that was made decades ago in Columbus, Ohio. It was described on the bottle as “Just a swell drink.” Well, I like that description, so I thought it would make a cool print on a shirt.

This is 2 colors (white and red) of ink on one of my favorite shirts, a 50/25/25 polyester/cotton/rayon Bella+Canvas tri-blend T shirt in heather charcoal black. It’s a swell garment. These are printed both on the front, and on the back, which is also swell.

All printing is done in Ohio, United States using sustainable, responsibly produced, and ethically used ink. Every garment is pre-washed, pre-shrunk, and is true to size.

All designs for Main Engine Press are hand drawn, and then individually and manually screen printed. Our goal is to create a uniquely crafted work of art with every print that honors the inspiration of the work.
